Jerry Edward Waltrip

Spartanburg, SC- Jerry Edward Waltrip, 76, husband of Karen Steadman Waltrip, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Born August 8, 1944 in Cowpens, SC, Jerry was a son of the late Edward and Anne Cantrell Waltrip. He was employed with American Security for 32 years before his retirement. Jerry was a Fire Chief at Arkwright Fire Department and volunteered with the Rescue 18 Croft. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for many years. In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his daughter, Leslie Waltrip Lawter and her husband, Mark; two grandchildren, Justin “Walt” Waltrip and David Alex Parker; a brother, Lannie Waltrip; and his father in-law, Leroy Steadman. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9th, 11:00AM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
