Joe Alan Joiner

Spartanburg, SC- Joe Allan Joiner, 77, husband of Mary Darlene Joiner, passed away on Saturday, June 03, 2017. Born March 17, 1940 in Georgetown Texas, he honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Joe was employed with Dow Chemical and Morton International. Joe loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in boating, fishing, gardening, and was an advocate for Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. As childhood friends, he met his beautiful bride, Mary Darlene Joiner, to whom he was married to for 60 years.  In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his sons, Robert L. and Marvin P. Joiner along with numerous nieces and grandchilderen. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 6th, 10-11AM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 11AM. Burial will be held in the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Research Institute at www.cancerresearch.org
