John Patrick Duffy

John Patrick Duffy of Moore, SC passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the age of 62. He was born in Savannah, GA on April 7, 1962 to the late Johanna O’Grady and Gavin Owen Duffy. 

After attending public high school in Central Florida, John enrolled at Auburn University as a freshman. He later transferred to, and graduated from, University of Florida (Class of 1985), with a degree in Chemical Engineering. John relocated to Greenwood, SC to work in the Milliken & Company Abbeville Plant. In 2003, he moved to Spartanburg to work at the Roger Milliken Center. After 38 years of service, John retired on September 30, 2023. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Robin Smith Duffy; son, Ryan Patrick Duffy of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Caitlyn Nicole Duffy of Charlotte, NC; brother, Kevin Duffy of Lake Mary, FL; sisters, Sara D. Berman (Phillip) of Ormond Beach, FL, Carole D. Smith of Davenport, FL, and Bridget Duffy of Longwood, FL; niece, Sara Smith; and nephew, Michael Smith.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Rd, Roebuck, SC 29376. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 290 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by Father David R. Whitman. Burial to follow in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd, Moore, SC 29369.
