John Anthony Holland

Moore, SC- John Anthony Holland, 71, husband of Sally Ann Holland, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home. John was born May 3, 1946 in Solihull, England, where he met and married his beloved wife, Sally, in 1967. In 1983, he and Sally, with their two sons, moved to Thompson, CT. John worked as a mechanical engineer for Newey Goodman for over 30 years before his retirement in 2007. Together, John and Sally loved to travel, especially cruising, and working in the yard. He was a hardworking and passionate man and it showed in everything he did. John was a bit of a perfectionist, but he loved to laugh and joke. He always knew what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Adrian Holland (Christy) of Campobello, SC and Richard Holland (Jessica) of Irmo, SC; five grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Austin, Kaitlyn, and Aidan; three great grandchildren, Holden, Avah, and Valerie; and one sister, Janet Rice of Sheldon, England. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7th, 2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family will receive friends following the service.
