Born in Charleston, SC, John was a son of the late Johnnie Nabor Wyndham, Sr. and Lenora Crawford Wyndham. John graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and settled in Spartanburg as his new home. He enjoyed beach trips, studying history and was an avid reader. Beginning in 1985, John’s true passion began in the martial arts where he excelled, sharing his knowledge teaching students from all walks of life, young and old. His knowledge, wisdom, and the enthusiasm he exuded will be remembered and sorely missed for years to come by the many lives he touched for more than three decades. In addition to his wife, Terri, John is survived by his son, Adam; his sister, Vivian Martin (Bill) of Fort Mill, SC; two brothers, Mark Wyndham (Allison) of Fort Mill, SC and Kenneth Wyndham (Angie) of Anderson, SC; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 13th, 1:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor James “Jim” Rutledge. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church Builders, Food Ministry, 127 E. Freemont Ave, Spartanburg, SC or to the charity of one’s choice.
