Johnnie Margaret Carson

Johnnie Margaret Carson, 86, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on October 21, 2024. She was born on November 26, 1937 in Canton, Georgia. Johnnie was known for her vibrant personality, marked by a profound love for her family and friends, a generous spirit of helping others, and a delightful sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John Carson, her sister Barbara Adams, sister in law Pat Carson, son Richard Smith, and daughter Leigh Ann Thomas(David). Johnnies legacy also continues through her grandchildren, Jonathan Smith(Isabel), Samantha Smith, Brandy Cuesta(Pat), and Justin Cantrell(Bari) as well as her eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Arvilla Harbin; sister Mary Smith(Gene), and brothers Richard Harbin(Kay), and Jack Harbin(Kay).

Johnnie was a longtime member of Tyger River Presbyterian Church, where she engaged actively in community service and fellowship. A visitation to celebrate her life will be held at the J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, an organization that was close to Johnnie's heart. 

Johnnie's warmth, humor, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
