Spartanburg, SC- Johnnie Bea Queen, 98, wife of the late John Queen, Jr., passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Born June 28, 1923 in Carbon Hill, AL, Johnnie Bea was a daughter of the late Oliver Bynum McClain and Maggie Hendon McClain. She moved to West Virginia as a teenager, where she met and married her husband, John. Johnnie Bea was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother.
She is survived by her son, John Larry Queen of Blacksburg, SC; daughters, Betty Jo Smutzer Marrs (Roy), Katie Pack Hembree (Charles), both of Roebuck, SC, and Susie Queen of Bristol, TN; a special family friend, Donna Moore; grandchildren, John Mark Queen (Kristie), Deanna Wise (Ian), Chris Smutzer (Tammy), Harry Joe Smutzer (Cecelia), Sarah Pack (Brian Smith), and Kelly Calton (Wes); seventeen great grandchildren; and two special nieces, Faye Jenkins and Brenda Bradberry.
In addition to her husband, John, she was predeceased by her son in-law, Kent Pack; and daughter in-law, Deanna Queen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6th, 4:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams. The family will receive friends following.
Entombment will be held Thursday, June 9th, 11:00AM in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, WV. The family will receive friends following.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
