Jonathan "Jon" Lee Trivette, 75, of Salisbury, NC passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center while visiting family in the area. Born July 24, 1946 in Salisbury, North Carolina to the late Charles Andrew and Edith Powell Trivette. Jon was a 1964 graduate of East Rowan High School and a 1972 cum laude graduate of Pfeiffer College where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. From 1965 to 1969 Jon served in the United States Air Force and was member of the United States Airborne Choir. Jon was a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and a member of the Society of Actuaries. Jon began his accounting career with Dixon Odom in 1972 followed by senior partnerships with Cherry, Bekaert, and Holland and Price Waterhouse, Inc. before opening his own partnership firm, Sledge, Trivette, and Hiatt Certified Public Accountants in High Point, North Carolina. Jon served terms on the board of North Carolina National Bank, the International Home Furnishings Council, the Guilford County Republican Party, and the founding board of the Radisson High Point Hotel in the 1970s and 1980s and was Development Director of the High Point Junior Chamber of Commerce and auditor for the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant in the mid-1970s. His success in the accounting field led him to manage top accounts including High Point & Thomasville Furniture Industries, Richard Childress Racing, and Old Dominion. Jon was an avid reader who enjoyed antiques, auctions, and anything allowing him to help others in his community. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Leigh Chan (David) of Inman, South Carolina, and son, Jonathan Gregory Trivette of Spartanburg, South Carolina, brother Bobby Trivette (Susan) of Salisbury, NC and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Galynne“Lynne” Gregory Trivette and sister, Sylvia, nee Trivette, Honeycutt.
