Joseph D. Johnson

Joseph D. Johnson Roebuck_ Joseph Dwayne “Joey” Johnson, 37, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Joey was born in Spartanburg, SC, on August 20, 1980.  He was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1998, where he was in the marching band serving as the drum captain. Joey graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2004.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the guitar. Joey is survived by his parents Mike and Brenda Sherbert of Roebuck and his father Curtis Johnson of Boiling Springs, SC, a daughter Claire Johnson of Greenville; sister, Tina Johnson (Richard) of Roebuck;  nephews Eli and Nolan.  He also leaves behind three special lifelong friends, Casey Strength, Avery Moore, and Mike Chisholm. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jackie Bridwell.  Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
