Josephine Messer White

Josephine Messer White, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House in Spartanburg, S.C. Born September 13, 1936 in Pacolet, she was the daughter of the late Verdie Ellison Messer. Her husband is the late Harry Dean White of Pacolet, (he served 4 years in Navy and 16 years in Airforce)

 

Josephine was retired from the State of South Carolina as a school nurse aid and cafeteria worker and loved serving in her community and helping others. She spent most of her time with her family and church family. 

 

Survivors are two sons, Roy Dean White (Lorie) of Pacolet; Terry Wayne White of Pacolet; 4 grandchildren, Roger White (Rachel), Sarah White, and Jesse White; 3 great grand children, Lily White, Ryan Conrad White, and Merlin Merrell; sisters, June Ogle, Gail Parker, Elaine Davis, and Joyce Stepp.

 

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter in-law, Wanda White; a grandchild, Ryan Clark White; a sister, Ann West; a brother, Eugene Messer; and brothers in-law, Fred Ogle, Dallas Parker, Gene Davis, Steve Stepp, and Cary West.

 

Visitation will be Friday, May 5th, 2:00PM at Church of God in Pacolet Mills, S.C. Funeral services will follow at 3:00PM conducted by Rev. Michael Hutchins. Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery.
