Joyce Lee Chaffey

Spartanburg, SC- Joyce Lee Chaffey, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Eden Terrace.

Born March 25, 1930 in Newberry, SC, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Lillian Cudd O’Shields. Joyce grew up in Union and attended nursing school. For many years, she was a LPN, employed with Mary Black Hospital, and Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach. Joyce was an avid reader. She was most at home on the coast and enjoyed her homes in Garden City and Murrells Inlet. Joyce was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Joy Harper and her husband, Max, of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Erin Grover (Ryan), Jay Harper (Erika), both of Charlotte, NC; and three great grandchildren, Lilly, Iris, and James.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mark Douglas Lee, Jr., and later by, William Chaffey; and a son, Mark Douglas “Rick” Lee, III.
