Judith Johnson McLyea

Judith "Judy" Johnson McLyea, 79, of Woodruff, SC passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Born in Spartanburg on October 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Levi Newton and Florence Campbell Cromer. A graduate of Spartan High School, Judith went on to work with her brother, Calvin Cromer, renovating houses. She was a meticulous worker who loved painting houses and caring for her yard. She was very proud of winning Yard of the Month. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Judith dedicated her life to her family. Her greatest joy in life was bringing happiness and love to her family. She is survived by her husband, Billy James McLyea; children, Selena Denise Johnson, Van Johnson (Beth), and Chris McLyea (Wendy); grandchildren, Shaelyn Trail, Olivia Johnson, Blake Johnson, Casey Johnson, and Chrisyn McLyea; siblings, Ray Cromer, Nancy Hill, Dennis Cromer, and Linda Ellison; and special niece, Renae Sprouse. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Raymond Johnson, and siblings, Myra Sprouse, Sara Rollins, Calvin Cromer, Jimmy Cromer, and Wendolyn Cromer. Vistation will be 10:00-11:30am on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Graveside services will follow at 12:00pm in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street Ext, Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by Rev. Andy Parker.
