Karen Satterfield Royals

Karen Satterfield Royals Pauline – Karen Denise Satterfield Royals of Pauline, SC passed away January 8, 2021 with her loving husband of 46 years, Richard “Rick” Royals, by her side. She was born on July 5, 1960 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Charles Coley and Edna Mae Gregg Satterfield. Karen was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She spent many years as a primary/kindergarten teacher and school director where her passion for teaching children was felt by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her caregiving attitude. She was a wonderfully devoted Mom to her two daughters, Amy Riley (McKenzie) and Jessica Roberts (Matt). Karen loved nothing more than to spend time with her six grandchildren; Claire, Aidan, Brynn, Owen, Arleigh, and Colton. She is also survived by a brother; Jeff Satterfield (Nancy); sister, Elaine Huckabee (Gene); her dear mother-in-law, Christine Royals; three sister-in-law’s, Cathy Maxwell (Ricky), Janet Skinner (Ray), Christy Rector (Keith); honorary sister-in-law, Tonya Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by sisters, Betty Scally, Brenda Lee, Judy Smith; and a brother, Kenneth Satterfield. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church: 3119 Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374.
