Spartanburg, SC- Kelli Godfrey Jacobs, 44, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after years of declining health due to complications from type I diabetes. She was the precious daughter of Thomas and Diane Mattison Godfrey of Moore, SC. In addition to her parents, she leaves behind to cherish fond memories is her much loved son, John Garrett Jacobs, and his dad, John Patrick Jacobs. Other surviving family members are aunts and uncles, Ann and Harold Brock of Boiling Springs, SC, Jean and Benny Frady of McCalla, AL, and Lynne and Wayne Mattison of Spartanburg, SC; her former mother and father in-law, James and Brenda Jacobs; former brother and sister in-law, Torrey and Tracy Jacobs; several cousins; many friends; and her kitty, Lucas. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Godfrey and B.C. and Ruth Mattison. Kelli graduated from Westgate Christian School as Valedictorian in 1992 and attended USC Upstate. Over her career, she worked as a recruiting and placement manager for several employment agencies. Kelli was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and very much liked to worship there when her health permitted. She enjoyed the beach, interior design, organization of any type, and spending time with her son. Kelli had a love for animals of all kinds. A private memorial service was held Monday, April 16th at Westminster Presbyterian Church, conducted by The Reverend Steve Wise and Mr. David Mattison.
