Larry Ray Sloan

Woodruff – Larry Ray Sloan, 79, husband of the late Alice Jackson Sloan, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Larry was born on November 15, 1942, to the late Marvin Earl Sloan and Lucy Honeycutt Jackson. He honorably served his country in the US Army. Larry was a member of VFW Post 9539, American Legion Post 33, Cavins Masonic Lodge 226 and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by a son, Carl Sloan (Rita) of Woodruff; stepson, Gene Hawkins (Darlene) of Woodruff; sister, Corlis King (David) of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Larry was predeceased by sons, Marvin Sloan, Michael Sloan; a brother, John Sloan; and a sister, Brenda Parham.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Carroll Caldwell will follow immediately in the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment with military honors and Masonic rites will be held at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
