Leah Coleman Hanna

Leah Coleman Hanna Spartanburg – Leah Coleman Hanna, wife of Dr. Charles B. Hanna, Jr., passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020. Born on March 3, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, Leah was the daughter of Lt. Col. William W. Coleman and Ruth Roberts Coleman. She graduated from Winthrop College with a B.S. in Elementary Education and received her Masters at Converse College. Leah was an educator in Spartanburg District 7 for 32 years working at McCarthy-Teszler and Houston Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Pilot Club, Lady’s Slipper Garden Club, and Trinity United Methodist Church. Leah is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles B. Hanna, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Hanna Ammons (Damon); her son, Charles B. Hanna, III (Jill); four grandchildren, Coleman Harrelson Ammons, William Tinsley Ammons, Arabella Sophia Hanna, and Benjamin Hillen Hanna all of Spartanburg. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Andrew Fisher, Hospice Chaplain, conducting the service.
