Moore, SC- Leigh “Tricie” Patrice Helton, 51, passed away unexpectedly at her home, on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Leigh was born August 13, 1971 in Mobile, AL.
Leigh was a loving girlfriend, daughter, sister, fun aunt, cousin, coworker and friend. She loved life, laughed easily, judged never and brought joy into every room that she entered. Everyone who was lucky enough to know Leigh adored her instantly. Her work ethic was unmatched. She was a dedicated and loyal employee of Blockbuster for years where she was promoted many times. For the last 13 years she was employed by Lane Valente as an account manager. Leigh loved Elvis, her sweet puppy, and Alabama football. You knew better than to interrupt when BAMA was playing. There will be an enormous void in the lives of Leigh’s family, friends and coworkers.
Leigh is already deeply missed by her longtime partner in life of 16 years, David Thompson of Moore, SC. In addition to David, Leigh is survived her by mother, Patricia “Colleen” Springer Burdette and stepfather, Martin Wayne Burdette, of Corpus Christi, TX; her father, Billy Lee Helton and stepmother, Dana Harvard Helton, of Mobile, AL; brothers, Cary Scott Helton (Becca) of Fairhope, AL, Christopher Burdette (Melody) of Foley, AL; aunt, Reba Springer Barnes (Clifton) of Jackson, AL; uncle, Dwight Helton (Marie) of Mobile, AL; nephews, Tristan Burdette of Foley, AL and Evan Helton of Fairhope, AL; nieces, Maggie and Molly Helton of Fairhope, AL and Ryleigh Burdette of Foley, AL; as well as several cousins; Jayne Duerksen, loving best friend of Spartanburg, SC; and her beloved fur baby, Cody Helton.
Leigh was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, John and Patricia Springer; paternal grandparents, Samuel Lee and Virginia Mae Helton; aunt, Joyce “Sissy” Helton Whigham; uncle, George “Bubba” Helton; and cousin, Jeb Whigham.
A memorial service honoring Leigh will be held on Saturday, January 14th, 11:00 AM at the Dunbar Funeral Home with the Rev. Clay Turner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St Jude's Children’s Hospital, The Shriners Hospital for Children or The Spartanburg Humane Society.
