Lenna MacLean Moore Fulmer

April 15, 1941 — March 14, 2022

Lenna MacLean Moore Fulmer passed away on March 14, 2022 at her home, Ivy Court in Spartanburg South Carolina.

Born on April 15, 1941, Lenna was the only child of the Late Margaret Maybry Moore and the late George Burgin Moore.

She was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg. She attended Spartanburg City Schools, Limestone College, and was a graduate of Converse College receiving B. A. and M. A. T. Degrees.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dr. J. Sidney Fulmer, and her son James Sidney Fulmer, Jr., his wife Katherine and their three sons, James Sidney Fulmer, III, Benjamin Colburn Fulmer, and MacLean Faircloth Fulmer.

She is also survived by her beloved cousins Marianna Black Habisreutinger, Paula Black Baker, Maybry, George and the Very Revered Frank Limehouse, John Broadus Maybry and their families.

Lenna was the first woman member of the Executive Committee of the South Carolina State Fair, served on the Board of the Piedmont Interstate Fair, a member and past president of The Assembly, The Crescent Club, Tea and Topics Book Club, and the Margaret Moore Garden Club which was named in memory of her mother. She was also a sustaining member of the Junior League.

Lenna served on the Board and as past President of the Friends of the Arts and was co-chair of “Picasso, Gauguin and Friends”, and “Picasso and Friends Again”-art shows sponsored by the Friends of the Arts.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution-Cowpens Chapter, and a member of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina as a descendent of Dr. Peter Fayssoux, the first Surgeon General of the United States.

She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 17th, 4:00PM in Oakwood Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends immediately after the service at 167 Ivy Court.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations are made to the Community Fund of the Spartanburg County Foundation, 424 East Kennedy Street Spartanburg, SC 29302, The Purnell Fund at the First Presbyterian Church, 393 East Main Street Spartanburg SC 29302, and Converse College, 580 East Main Street Spartanburg SC, 29302.
