Lewis Murphy Craig, aged 93, of Moore, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family on February 18th, 2024. He was born on April 3rd, 1930, to the late John Norman Craig and Bessie Bailey Craig. Mr. Craig honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a truck driver for Milliken, from which he retired. An avid gardener, Mr. Craig found joy in tending to his yard and cultivating his garden. He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Frances Vaughn Craig, and their three children: Donna K. Smalley of Moore, SC, Michael Craig (Tina) of Woodruff, and David Craig (Trish) of Moore, SC. Mr. Craig is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Luther, Edward, Roger, and Robert Craig, his sister Lavonia Craig Smith, and a great-grandson. A service to celebrate Mr. Craig's life will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens with military honors.
