Linda Diane Sawyer

Roebuck, SC- Linda Diane Sawyer, 70, wife of Stephen Sawyer, died Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home. Born July 8, 1948 in Woodruff, SC, Diane was a daughter of the late Troy White and Daisy Kiss. She was a graduate of Woodruff High School, class of 1966. Diane was the engineering services coordinator with Wabtec for 25 years before her retirement. She was a member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church where she participated in the Olvie Fuller Sunday School Class, Women of Encouragement, Young at Heart, the Sanctuary Ministry, choir, and was a past Sunday School teacher. Diane loved her church and enjoyed camping, reading, and Gamecock sports. In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, she is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lawson (Eddie) of Moore, SC; granddaughter, Megan Bennett (Patrick) of Spartanburg, SC; her sister, Phyllis Arnold of Woodruff, SC; sisters in-law, Judy D’Arnell (Doug) of Roebuck, SC and Lynn Webster of Lake Wylie, SC; and her brothers in-law, Phillip Sawyer (Donna) of Woodruff, SC and David Sawyer (Jean) of Mayo, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Sawyer; and her brother, Bobby White. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Peggy Mitchell with Comfort Keepers and Amber Jennings, Lezlie Long, and Selena McAbee with Kindred Hospice for their loving care. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5th, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6th, 2PM at Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff, SC. The family will be at the home.
