Spartanburg, SC- Luther Hinkle Hallman, 73, husband of Judy Gail Stephens Hallman, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born January 24, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC, Dr. Hallman was a son of Frank Hallman and Catherine Baker Hallman.

His unwavering commitment to serving others began at an early age when he achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, exemplifying his leadership and sense of duty. Luther’s academic pursuits led him to graduate from The University of South Carolina with a pharmacy degree. He worked at the Movcrief Army Hospital where he demonstrated his dedication to the sciences and healing arts. However, Luther’s thirst for knowledge and desire to make a deeper impact on people’s lives led him to pursue his passion for dentistry. He earned his dental degree from The Medical University of South Carolina, setting the stage for a fulfilling and impactful career ahead.

He was a member of the Spartanburg County Dental Society, South Carolina Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Judy, he is survived by his adoring children, Luther, Jr. (Kallie) and Andrew Lowe (Jacky); his doting grandson, Walker; his sister, Jane Lisk; his dear friends and brothers from another mother, Al Hammonds and Magdy Habib; and many other relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth.

Memorial services will be held Friday, August 11th, 2PM, at First Presbyterian Church in the Chapel. The family will receive friends following in the Parlor.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who offered their support and assistance during this difficult time. Your presence and acts of kindness provided comfort and strength to our family. We would like to thank Dr. Scott Lindhorst and staff, hospice, and Sharon Hardy.
