Roebuck, SC- Margaret Lanford Nodine passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer.
Margaret was the sixth child of eight to be born to the late Rex Lanford and Mable Staggs Lanford in the Stone Station community of Spartanburg. Growing up, Margaret attended schools in Woodruff and Roebuck and was a 1966 graduate of Dorman High School. She was the retired office manager of the original Mobile Home Exchange in Roebuck, SC. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her annual beach trip with her sisters. She was a faithful member of Switzer First Baptist Church.
She was so proud of her children and grandchildren, however, visits from her great grandchildren always put a smile on her face and left a joy in her heart. Everyone will miss her cherry pies at every holiday gathering.
Survivors include her loving husband, Jim Nodine; her children, Victoria Hann (Hector), James Nodine (Roslyn), Lynn Nodine Sanders, Eddie Pierson (Tammy), Kim Waddell (Robby), April Martin, and Chad Nodine (Chelsea); fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Turner (John), Jo Ledford (Jack), Carolyn Setzer (C.O.), Brenda Adams (Jerry), and Sandra Harris (Robert); sister in-law, Linda Lanford; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Tinkerbell.
She was predeceased by a sister, Etta Owens (Albert); a brother, Frank “Boots” Lanford; and a grandson, Brad Nelson.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 22nd, 2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. The visitation will follow.
The family would like to especially thank the medical team and staff of the Spartanburg Regional ICU, Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, and her cancer team, for the great care she received.
