Margaret Woody

Margie Woody passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. She was born on January 16, 1935 to Robert Crawford and Caroline Bearden Woody in Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by 2 sisters: Doris Woody (infant death), Virginia Jones and 3 brothers: Theron, Earle and Leland Woody.

Margie retired from the S.C School for the Deaf and Blind after 32 years of teaching blind and multi-handicapped students. Prior to that, she worked for the Spartanburg YMCA as Director of Women and Girls Programs particularly in swimming. Margie also taught Driver’s Ed. for a number of years. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg SC.

She is survived by her niece and care-giver, Teresa Woody Holliday and her husband, David. She is also survived by her niece, Pat Henson (Keith) of Spartanburg, SC, nephews, Steve Woody (Sharon) of Kents Store, VA, Dean Woody (Rita) of Simpsonville, SC, Rick (Donna) Woody of Duncan, SC and Michael (Sandra) Woody of Loganville, GA.
