Marion Finch

Roebuck, SC- William Marion Finch, 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Born April 5, 1952 in Pauline, SC, Marion was the son of the late William Daniel “W.D.” Finch and Ruth Harrison Finch. He was a graduate of Dorman High School and a longtime employee of Walnut Grove Auctions and Event Rentals, Inc. Marion was a farmer, specializing in row crops, and also raising beef cattle. His love and dedication to farming rewarded him the title of former Farmer of the Year.

Marion’s gift from God was being a true servant to others, regardless, because “It was the right thing to do.” He served the Glenn Springs and Pauline community as Fire Commissioner with the Fire Department for many years. Marion was a follower of Jesus Christ and a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Adam Finch and his wife, Diana, and their children, William, Weston, Will, and Ben; son, Eric Finch and his wife, Bailey, and their children, Waylon and Silas; and son, Omar De La Garza; a daughter, Angela Barnes; and a sister, Emily F. Cox (Hugh); and close family friends, Jessica, Chris, and Ashley.

Marion was predeceased by a sister, Ann Finch.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 24th, 5-7PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25th, 4:00PM at Walnut Grove Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Chris Snelgrove.
