Mark James Beasley

December 2, 1958 – July 8, 2023 Mark James Beasley (64) passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2023, after prolonged illness resulting from several strokes. Mark was born on December 2, 1958, to Rube Beasley and Emma Lee Beasley in Charleston, SC. He graduated from Gordon H. Garrett High School before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Furman University in 1981. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984. After his seminary training, Mark pastored multiple churches starting with his first church plant Sugarloaf Baptist Church in Summerland Key, Florida. He then served as interim pastor at Neals Creek Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. Lastly, he planted and pastored North Strand Community Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Mark will be remembered for the way he shared his talents which included teaching and music, and for his contagious sense of humor. Mark is survived by his former wife, Beverly; children, Nathaniel Beasley and Jessica Clark as well his brother, Donald Beasley. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 14th, 6:00PM at Ridgewood Church in Greer, South Carolina. The family will receive friends following in the sanctuary.
