Spartanburg, SC- Marshall Prince Washburn, 68, husband of Rebecca Marsh Washburn, died Saturday, September 14, 2019. Born September 13, 1951 in Tuscaloosa, AL, Marshall was a son of the late William Crane and Elizabeth Lancaster Washburn. Raised in Lexington, VA, he attended Episcopal High School, graduated from Washington and Lee University, and received his MBA from USC. Marshall retired as President of the Automotive Division at Milliken & Co. after 36 years of dedicated service. Marshall was a devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served on the board for Habitat for Humanity. He was also a board member of The Carolina Country Club, where he was an avid tennis player. Marshall volunteered and tutored with the Spartanburg County Adult Education Program. In addition to his wife, Marshall is survived by his daughter, Loring Aument and her husband, Greg, and their daughter, Avery; and his son, Marshall Prince Washburn, Jr. and his wife, Libby. He is also survived by his brothers, William Crane Washburn, Jr. and Dabney Lancaster Washburn. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 17th, 3:00PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
