Martha Ruth Skipper

Martha Ruth Skipper, beloved wife of Roger W. Skipper, passed away on April 2nd, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on June 22, 1945, in Spartanburg, SC, to her loving parents Frances Morrell and Robert H. Wingo.
 
Martha was a dedicated Christian who found solace and strength in her faith. Her unwavering love for the Lord guided her throughout her life and served as a source of comfort to all who knew her. Martha’s love for her family was boundless. They were not just her family, they were her whole world.
 
In addition to her husband, Roger W. Skipper, she is survived by her son, Dr. E. Van Bridges(Lori), as well as her stepdaughters Annette Mummert(Dennis Lovett) and Ginger Phillips(Andy Phillips), grandchildren, Evan, Eden, Emerson, and Errington Bridges, Anthony Ray Wayne Phillips, and Nicole Mummert. Martha is preceded in death by her brothers James "Jay" Wingo and Robert "Bobby" Wingo. 

A visitation in memory of Martha will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at The J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Rd in Roebuck, SC, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will follow on Friday, April 5^th, 3 P.M. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Spartanburg, SC, conducted by the Rev. Frankie Taylor.
