Mary Frances “Nanny” Keeler, daughter of the late Wilbur Stickley and Edith Hanna Rowe Keeler, died on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Mary was born on November 28, 1933, in Winchester VA. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Pacolet, SC and she loved her preacher. She retired from Kmart and then later from the Broome High School cafeteria. Nanny enjoyed her retirement years with her family, relaxing on her front porch, and waking up to her morning coffee and bacon. She loved her two door, red, Oldsmobile 442, crocheting, country music, cooking for everyone, teaching the kids, as well as the grandkids to cook, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Her greatest passion, however, was spending all the time with her family that she possibly could.
Mary’s family best described her as: loving, happy, strong, witty, a best friend, and a Nanny to everyone she met. In the good times and bad, she could always make you smile with a joke!
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Keeler and his wife, Denise, and Eldon “LD” Keeler, both of Spartanburg, SC; one daughter, Tonya Snapp of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Jimmy Keeler and his wife, Libby, of Star Tannery VA, Wilbur Keeler of Winchester VA, and Bobby Keeler of Winchester VA; grandchildren, Missie Henry (Todd), Hanna Horne (Adam), Blake Keeler (Leah) and Colt Keeler; and great-grandchildren, Abby Henry, Everette and Marylynn Horne, Bowen, Landry and Tatum Keeler, Jada, Kenedy and Daisy Gowan.
Mary is predeceased a daughter, Shirley Phillips and her husband, Dean; two grandchildren, Chuckie Gowan and Cody Keeler; and a sister in-law, Rosalee Keeler.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18th, 1-2PM at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 7210 S. Pine Street, Pacolet, SC 29372. Memorial services will follow at 2:00PM.
