Melvyn Henry Montjoy

Melvyn Henry Montjoy, 85, of Roebuck, SC passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1938 in Spartanburg, SC to the late William Henry Montjoy and Willie Mae Moore Montjoy.

After graduating from Spartan High, Melvyn attended Coyne Electrical College in Chicago, where he earned his associates degree. He found peace on the water; he loved fishing and won several bass fishing tournaments. He was also a fan of NASCAR races and the Atlanta Braves. 

Melvyn was a kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He met the love of his life, Margaret Rankin Montjoy, and they had a wonderful 37 years together. Melvyn will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Rankin Montjoy; children, Melvyn Gregory Montjoy, Jennifer Montjoy Cook, and Stanley Paul Rainwater; brother, William Lamar Montjoy (Brenda); sister, Sandra Hellams (Roy); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Charles Montjoy.

It is Melvyn’s final wish that no services be held. He does want everyone to hold their memories in their hearts and minds until we meet again.
