Spartanburg, SC- Michael Harrison Cooper, 65, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
He was born December 31, 1956 in Talladega, AL, to the late L. D. and Barbara Collins Cooper. Mike honorably served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was an HVAC tech and a “jack of all trades.” Since his retirement, he worked part-time with the Spartanburg County Recycling Center.
Mike was a “good ole country boy” who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching football. He will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to demonstrate joy in all that he did.
He was traveling for work when he met his wife, Theresa, in 1979. They moved to SC and married in 1980, and had their daughter, Ashley, in 1983. In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, and his beloved daughter, he leaves behind his beautiful granddaughter, Kendra. He was so very proud of her and loved her and his family so much.
He is also survived by three brothers, Larry, Ricky, and Kenneth Cooper; and a sister, Suzanne.
He was predeceased by a sister, Cindy Hubbard.
Mike and Theresa served alongside one another for many years in Children’s Ministry. He had a true servant’s heart and was quick to make himself available for any need.
He was so loved and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 7th, 11:00AM at Legacy at Beaver Hills, officiated by Reverend Manning Strickland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Legacy at Beaver Hills, 3700 S Church Street Ext, Roebuck, SC 29376.
For all of the kindness shown and the much needed love and prayers, we are thankful- The Family
