Michiko Sakuragi Phillips

Woodruff, SC- Michiko Sakuragi Phillips, 85, wife of the late Randy Phillips, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Born October 2, 1935 in Fukuoko City, Japan, Michiko was a daughter of the late Shinichi and Hideko Sakuragi. Michiko accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and followed her Lord in believer’s baptism on her 65th birthday. With a joyful and generous spirit she lived out her faith and participated in missions trips, cooking for youth retreats, visiting the sick, helping those in need, and serving through the life and ministry of the Lord’s church. Michiko is survived by a brother, Masatosi Sakuragi of Okayama City, Japan. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Masaaki Sakuragi; and a sister, Kekume Kayaguchi. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 23rd, 3:00PM in Heritage Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Andrew Shull.
