Mildred Jenkins Shirley

Moore, SC- Mildred Juanita “Sally” Jenkins Shirley, 93, formerly of Anderson, SC, has peacefully joined Jesus in His Heavenly home on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Sally was an only child of Mamie C. Rowland Allison and Charles P. Jenkins. She graduated from T. L. Hanna High School (Girls High) in Anderson, SC where she played her favorite sport, basketball. Sally met her husband, John Grady Shirley of 60 years, who has predeceased her, at Fiberglass where they both worked and married in 1946. They had two children, Juanita E. Lustgarten (Sheldon) and Stephen W. Shirley (Pamela) both of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Vickie McKelvey (Keith), David Ward (Kim), James Ward, Sherry Young, Sean Shirley (Courtney), and Christopher Shirley (Kosha); and eleven great grandchildren, Kelly and Katie Ward (David), Gavin Ward (James), Daniel Young, Janna Talbert, and Rachelle Hurt (Sherry), Eli and Gunner Shirley (Sean), Brianna, Madison, and Emory Shirley (Christopher); and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, August 16th, 2-2:45PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 3:00PM. Burial will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
