Miller Lee "Danny" McCraw, aged 98, of Spartanburg, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Born and raised in Spartanburg, he was the beloved son of the late Rev. Robert Lee and Etta Sprouse McCraw. A proud veteran, Danny served his country with honor during World War II as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He was deeply rooted in his community, embodying the values of service and dedication. As a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, his faith was central to his life, and Danny contributed actively to the church community. Additionally, he was a founding member of the Huntington Hills Country Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds of golf with friends and family. His passion for the sport extended to an annual tradition of attending the Master's tournament. Danny was also a supporter of Wofford Athletics, particularly football. Danny had a deep appreciation for the arts, finding joy in music and dance throughout his life. He shared his passion for music as a member of the church choir, uplifting the congregation with his voice. Danny leaves behind his son, Rodney McCraw (Vicki); brother, Kenneth McCraw (Minnie); grandchildren, Richard McCraw (Jana), Jennifer McCraw Hand, Spanky Amick, and April Chapman; as well as six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty McCraw. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Todd P. McCraw, and brother, Ted McCraw. Graveside services will be 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Chris Allen.
