Mitchell Edgar Fowler

Mitch Fowler, 56, of Spartanburg, passed away on October 5, 2024. Mitch was raised at Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, SC, where he lived until he finished high school. His years at Epworth were his happiest, and he was grateful to the people there who instilled in him the values and resilience to overcome his difficult early childhood. At Epworth, he learned what it was to be safe and to be loved, and most importantly, to be a beloved child of God. Mitch attended Presbyterian College and served in the U. S. Army. He was employed at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where his perseverance in the face of health challenges earned him the respect of his colleagues. He loved decorative glass, refrigerator magnets, the Clemson Tigers, and surprising friends with gifts. 

Mitch was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, which became his family. A service of celebration of Mitch’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 13, at 4:00pm at Trinity, 626 Norwood St., Spartanburg. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
