Nancy Cox Bailey, passed away on November 2nd, 2023 at BrookStone Terrace in Woodruff, SC. Nancy was born on September 5th, 1941, to the late Raymond and Gertrude Buchanan Cox. She loved to cook, shop, and spend time with family. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School. During her career, Nancy worked at Abney Mills and Lander University before making her home in Spartanburg. In Spartanburg, she took on the role of Director of Budgets and Funds Management at USC Upstate, from where she worked up until her retirement. In addition to her husband, Clyde Mahlon Bailey, she is survived by her son , Mark Bailey (Tami) of Spartanburg, and her daughter, Allison Payne (Scott) of Pauline, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Cameron Bailey (Kendra), Jason Harrison, Nicholas Krull, Emily Krull, Andrew Krull, Austin Payne, and great grandchildren; Kristian and Dillon Harrison, and Allie Claire, Madisyn Kate, and Macie Rae Bailey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Lee Geter, and her siblings; Robert and Gary Cox, Guynell Bell, and Roseann Tumblin. A memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 6th, 2023, 11:00 AM, at The Mill, with a receiving of friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Nancy may be made to: Alzheimer’s foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 16th floor, New York, NY 10001.
