Nancy Swofford Oliver

Spartanburg, SC- Nancy Swofford Oliver, 79, wife of George Huntley Oliver, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 11, 1937 in Cowpens, SC, Nancy was a daughter of the late Henry Grady and Ruth Brannon Swofford. She was a graduate of Cowpens High School and Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing. Nancy was a nurse for over 60 years, working for the hospital and also for the SC Department of Corrections as a nurse practitioner. She was a member of Croft Baptist Church. Nancy is survived by her sons, Kent Oliver (Terri) and Tommy Oliver (Kay); her daughter, Janet vonKolnitz (David); seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Geena, Huntley, Leah, Sam, Mary Gail, and Sally: two brothers, Billy and Sherman Swofford; and a sister, Gail Hackett. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 3rd, 10-11AM at Croft Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow in the Sanctuary at 11AM, officiated by Reverend Michael Bradley.
