Patricia J. Bradley

Spartanburg, SC- Patricia Bradley passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021.

Born July 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Ella Ruth Pierce Bradley, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

Pat was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts from Winthrop University and her Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina. She retired from Georgetown School District after teaching middle school Social Studies for 30 years. For a few years, Pat taught at Choppee School, but the majority of her years were spent at Beck Middle School. After her retirement, she was the Social Studies Coordinator for the Georgetown School District for another 10 years.

In addition to her dedication to the classroom and education, Pat was a founding member and past President of Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority of Women Educators. She was also a founding member of the Rural Education and Cultural Happenings (R.E.A.C.H.) Grant during a period of time while teaching at Beck Middle School. Pat was active in various other clubs and organizations while living in Georgetown. In Spartanburg, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, Chapter #31686 and a member of Glendale Baptist Church.

Pat is survived by many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents, Roe and Abby Bradley and Elbert and Eunice Pierce.

The family would like to thank Amanda Wilkins, Terri Rice, and Hattie Jones for their caregiving services and love to Pat.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 3rd, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 4th, 1:00PM at Glendale Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glendale Baptist Church, P O Box 246, Glendale SC 29346.

The family will be at the home of her cousin, Bobby and Marlene Holcombe, 138 Winfield Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
