Patricia Abernathy Seay

Spartanburg, SC- Patricia Carolyn Abernathy Seay, 85, wife of the late Oliver F. Seay, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born June 22, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC, Patricia was the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche Harvey Abernathy. Her life was committed to virtues of family, Christian principals, Canaan Baptist Church, friends, and her community. She had many talents, hobbies, and interests. Mama Pat enjoyed teaching young children in Sunday school, reading, gardening, and baking. Left to cherish beautiful memories are her two daughters, Sandy Seay Mahaffey and Angela Seay Truett (Danny); seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was predeceased by a daughter, Franki S. Smith. The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Allison Wittner. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1st, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2nd, 11AM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church, 701 Canaan Road, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
