Peggy Ann Roddy McIntyre

Spartanburg - Peggy Ann Roddy McIntyre, 91, wife of the late Alton Marion McIntyre, joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Peggy was the daughter of the late Ernest R. Roddy and Leila Roddy Pack. She graduated from Spartanburg High School and Cecil's Business College. Peggy later attended the University of South Carolina Spartanburg (USC Upstate) and was employed for 42 years with Spartan Mills in the Corporate Offices.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg where she was a greeter, sang in the choir, was active in Sunday School and WMU.

Peggy is survived by a daughter, Sheryl McIntyre Gowan (Jack); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Gowan, William Gowan (Will); sister, Edith Stepp; and several nephews and nieces.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Barbara Jean Humphries.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Interim Hospice for the love and care they gave Peggy. They would also like to thank the card ministries at First Baptist and Beaumont Baptist. Every card was a blessing.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Brian Redding.  The family will receive friends from the graveside following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Bridge at Green Street, 250 E Main St, Spartanburg, 29306, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. BOX 50, Memphis, TN., or perform a random act of kindness.
