Greer, SC- Midge, 72, went to her heavenly home, Saturday, November 2, 2019, surrounded by her family in the CCU at St. Francis Hospital. She entered her greater glory and reunited with the love of her life, Harvey. Midge and Harvey’s love story started when they were volunteering at Spartanburg Little Theater. When the time came to plan the wedding, they chose to wed at the theater. Midge is survived by her children, John MacIntosh (Carolyn), Linda League (Fraser), James MacIntosh (Syndi), Thomas MacIntosh; her grandchildren, Jessica MacIntosh, Justin MacIntosh, Alexis League, Savannah League, and MacKenzie MacIntosh; as well as her great-grandchildren, Hayden and Jonathan MacIntosh; and brother, Robert Crosby. She is also survived by her loving and faithful companion, Sparky. In addition to her husband, Harvey, Midge was predeceased by her parents, William Thomas and Elsie May Sabourin Crosby; brothers, William and Thomas Crosby; and a sister, Linda Crosby Bigley. Midge’s career included areas of finance, insurance, and retail. She worked for many years at Gerald Smith’s company in Spartanburg, Steinburg and Associates, and, prior to retirement, for Hancock Fabrics. Midge, ever the avid cook, baker, sewer, quilter, and gardener was most known for her love of family. No celebration or family milestone was ever too small, especially birthdays, where she led the crowd in the family’s boisterous and loud family rendition of Happy Birthday. We celebrate a life well lived and loved. The visitation will be held Tuesday, November 5th, 5:30-7:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home in Roebuck, SC. Funeral services will be at Calvary Episcopal Church in Glenn Springs by The Reverend Paul Strickland, on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fraser League, John MacIntosh, James MacIntosh, Thomas MacIntosh, Patrick Pellicer, and Nicholas Rose. The family is at the home of James and Syndi MacIntosh, 512 Lanford Rd. Pauline, SC 29374. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Little Theater, 200 E. St. John’s Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306 or a charity of your choice. Thank you for the special care provided by the staff of St. Francis CCU in her last days and also to Jimmie Dunbar and the staff at J.M. Dunbar Funeral home for all the support, love, and affection.
