R. Kent Pack Roebuck, SC- Richard Kent Pack, 62, husband of Katie Queen Pack, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Born January 28, 1955 in Radford, VA, Kent was a son of the late Thomas Guy and Lucille Hinkle Pack. He worked in the Industrial Instrumentation/Engineering field for more than 35 years. He demonstrated his love for his field through both extreme aptitude and diligence in a variety of challenging roles. Kent enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, especially snow skiing, water skiing, and camping. But even more, he loved sharing those activities with his family and friends. He was a faithful member of Roebuck Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Choir. Kent was a gentle, kind spirit who devoted himself to God, his family, and others. Kent is survived by his best friend and wife of 37 years, Katie Q Pack. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Sarah A. Cecil (Tony) of Duncan, SC and Kelly P. Calton (Wes) of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Walker, Pack, and Whit Calton; his brother, Thomas H. Pack (Martha); and his mother in-law, Johnnie Bea Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Roebuck Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams and Reverend Wes Calton. Tony Cecil will offer special remarks. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
