Raymond Philip Borges

Spartanburg, SC- Raymond Borges, 75, husband of Patricia "Trish" Borges, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.  A native of Somerset, Massachusetts, Ray received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music and was an instrumental music teacher in the Somerset School System for many years. Ray was always known by his teacher friends as “The gentle giant”.   He had a great sense of humor, a quiet spirit, was very dependable, a caring father and was so very loved by his family and all that knew him.  He loved football, especially the New England Patriots and the Clemson Tigers.Ray and his family moved to Florida in 1987, and he and Trish eventually moved to Spartanburg, SC in 2006.He leaves behind his wife, Patricia (Trish) Borges of 52 years; 3 daughters, Susan Borges of Smithfield, RI, Joanne (John) Kasak of Lake City, FL, and Karen Borges (Blake) of Phoenix, AZ; son in-law, Michael Enriquez of Powell, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Enriquez.Celebration of Ray’s life will be held at the Dunbar Funeral home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC, 29376 on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00pm, officiated by Reverend Sal Barone.
