Richard W. "Ricky" McPherson

Richard W. “Ricky” McPherson Chesnee, SC- Richard Wendall McPherson, 59, husband of the late Christine Todd McPherson, died Thursday, July 26, 2018. Born February 26, 1959 in Spartanburg, SC, Ricky was a son of the late Charles William and Cornelia Rhodes McPherson. He was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1977. Ricky participated in the S.C. Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament. He was employed with Monsanto for 10 years, serving as captain of the emergency/fire brigade, before starting McPherson Roofing & Construction in 1989. Ricky was a member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church. Ricky was survived by his son, Jon Richard McPherson; his daughters, Chelsea and Reagan McPherson; a beloved grandson, Zared Sheilds; brothers, John Randall “Randy” McPherson (Sherry) and William Ray McPherson (Melody); and his sister, Reba McPherson. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 10:00 am at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
