Robert (Bob) Tolleson, 69, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.Born August 31, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Haroline Sherbert Tolleson and the late John F. Tolleson, Jr.Bob was a second year graduate of the original Paul M. Dorman High School in 1966. He was a proud member of the Dorman Cavalier Booster Club and an avid Gamecock Fan, win or lose. Bob served with honor in the United States Navy from 1966 until 1969. He was stationed in Guam. His first career was with S&S Manufacturing Distribution as the Marking Department Supervisor. He was a first hire with Michelin Tire and was trained in Canada in 1977 and travelled extensively to Canada and France for Michelin. He retired after 30 dedicated years of service. Bob was a volunteer for the Roebuck Fire Department for 25 years. He was an active, lifetime member of Roebuck Baptist Church.Bob and his wife, Betty, started their own business as Cruise One Vacations in 1995 (now known as Dream Vacations). Bob enjoyed this venture immensely. He and Betty have traveled the world with their business and were able to take their dream trip in March of 2018, where they visited many European countries.Bob was a loving son, husband, father, and papa. He was totally involved in his children and grandchildren's activities. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.In addition to his wife, Betty, and his mother, Haroline Sherbert Tolleson, Bob is survived by his daughters, Christi Tolleson Rhinehart and Leigh Tolleson Bishop, both of Lyman, and Ron L. Jolly, Jr. and wife, April, of Roebuck. Grandchildren, Erica Toxell, Maria Bishop of Lyman and Katherine, Carmen, and Kailey Jolly of Roebuck; and one great granddaughter, Salem Troxell of Lyman. Bob is also survived by his brother in-law, Dennis Burdette and wife, Kelly, and their loving family.In addition to his father, John F. Tolleson, Jr., he was predeceased by his brother, David A. Tolleson, both of Roebuck.Special thanks to all the nurses and staff of the 4th Floor at Spartanburg Regional Heart Center for their loving care and compassion.The family will receive friends Saturday, June 2nd, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3rd, 2:00PM at Roebuck Baptist Church, 1979 E.
