Bob Forth

Robert Donald Forth Jr. (Bob) passed away Sunday, April, 9th, 2023, at the age of 70. Born in upstate, New York October, 26, 1952, Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cheryl, and his four children, Heather, Eric (Julie), Jordan (Jamie), and Brad. Bob also had five grandchildren, Alexander, Michael, Abigail, Mila, and Aeliana. He is also survived two siblings, Donald Forth, and Sherri Perry of Upstate New York. He was predeceased by both parents and his sister Terri.

Bob grew up in Upstate New York and moved to Salinas, California in high school. He moved back to Upstate New York where he met his wife in 1972. He and his family moved to the Atlanta area in 1980 when Bob took a job in the corrugated box industry with St. Regis. He then moved to Spartanburg in 1989 after going to work for Gaylord Container Corporation. He retired in the fall of 2011, but still brokered business.

Bob was known as a very warm and friendly person with a heart of gold, always giving to others. He was affectionately known as Box-Bob working in sales. His customers were his friends and he truly cared about all of them. Bob was a caregiver; wanting to give back. He delivered for mobile meals and gave to those in need. During the Covid-19 lock down he wasn’t able to visit his special needs daughter who lives in a group home setting. Every week he would bake her and, the other women a cake, leaving it in the lobby. He always would stop by with treats for his grand-kids and make dinner to drop off every week for his son and daughter-in-law. Bob would always say that he knew how hard it was to find time to cook and that he liked to help.

He was loved by those who knew him and adored by his family and close friends. Rest in peace, Dad, you will be missed beyond what words can express.
