Robert Glenn and Kathleen Smith McGee

Robert Glenn and Kathleen Smith McGee passed away in Spartanburg, SC, after 66 years of marriage. Kathleen, 88, died on August 24, 2024, and Glenn, 90, followed on January 9, 2025.

Glenn was born on September 8, 1934, in Belton, SC, to Edna Campbell and Robert Henry McGee. He graduated from Clinton High School and Clemson University. Kathleen was born on January 26, 1936, in Laurens, SC, to David Young and Kathleen Zeigler Smith. She graduated from Laurens High School and Furman University. They were married on August 16, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church in Laurens. In the fall, you could always find them at Clemson Football Games, tailgating and cheering for their Tigers. They enjoyed reading, travelling, gardening (especially roses), playing bridge, and cooking for family and friends. They were dedicated parishioners of The Episcopal Church of the Advent in Spartanburg.

Glenn and Kathleen are survived by their daughters, Kathleen McGee Anderson (Craig) of Simpsonville and Margaret Campbell McGee of Columbia. They were predeceased by their son, Robert Glenn, and their parents. Glenn was predeceased by his brother Joseph William McGee. Kathleen was predeceased by her brother, Robert Edward Smith, and her sister, Barbara Smith White.

The family would like to thank Glenn and Kathleen’s many caregivers, especially Janice Rogers, Taurra Gist, Sara Cooney, Dina Brazil, and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for the kindness, patience, love, and support they showed our parents.

A memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Advent on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
