Ruby Splawn Gowan

Campobello, SC- Ruby Lee Faye Splawn Gowan, 84, wife of James Edgar Gowan, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home. Born September 15, 1934 in Union, SC, Ruby was a daughter of the late Willard Pasco and Mammie Louise Brown Splawn. She was of the Baptist faith, and loved to sing and take pictures. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Christopher Patrick Gowan and his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Sharon Gail Elchisco and Sandra Dale McGraw and her husband, Charles; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her brother, James Splawn; and her sister, Barbara Gail Dowling. Ruby was predeceased by two sons, Bennie James and Charles Edgar Gowan; and a son in-law, John Carlton Elchisco. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 19th, 4-6PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 20th, 11:00AM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Roger Gosnell and Blaine Vinson, II. Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
