Moore, SC- Ruby Christine Howell, 85, wife of the late Garvis Taylor Howell, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Born March 12, 1932 in Campobello, SC, Ruby was a daughter of the late James Albert and Essie Pearl Gilbert Medley. After high school, she went on to complete her lab training at Spartanburg General Hospital. Ruby worked for many years for the practice of Dr. Williams, Littlefield, and Fleming. She was a longtime member of United Methodist Church of the Covenant. Ruby is survived by her son, Chuck Howell and his wife, Pamela Neal Howell, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter, Debbie Silvey of Moore, SC; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, William, Junior, Paul, and Ricky Medley; and six sisters, Ann Littlejohn, Ethlene Fowler, Corrine Pack, Shirley McLaughlin, Rachel Ward, and Libby Miller. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Christy Howell. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Kindred Hospice for their devoted loving care. The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct 21st, 12:30-1:45PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2PM in the Chapel, officiated by Reverend Rex Keaton.
