Ruby Lee McAbee

Ruby L. McAbee, 84, died Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her home. She was born in Spartanburg County and was the daughter of Nannie Lee McAbee Taylor and Virgil McAbee.

As a toddler, her birth father was tragically killed in an auto accident. She was lovingly raised by John C. "Babe" Taylor along with her mother. 

Ms. McAbee retired from S & S Manufacturing and continued to work at Walmart for many years after retirement age.

Her steadfast love was never doubted by her family. She cherished time with her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brother and sister-in-law. 

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was proud to sit under the teaching and preaching of her beloved brother.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Stewart-Robinette of Roebuck; son, Randy Stewart (Stacie) of Walnut Grove; grandchildren, Amber Campsen of Piedmont, Ashley Groce of Whitestone, Randall Stewart Jr. (Madison) of Taylors, and Caralee Lowry (Philip) of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Annie, and Eliza Stewart of Taylors; and brother, Pastor Frankie Taylor (Linda). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Danny Taylor and Wayne Taylor; and son-in-law, Randy Robinette.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 4:00-6:00pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3000 Stone Station Rd, Roebuck, SC 29376. The funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 1:00pm.

Pallbearers will be Allan Wood, Michael Arlege, Mustan Kapasi, Steve Boyd, Jose Camacho, and Ricky Coleman.
