S. Eugene Gossett

S. Eugene GossettSpartanburg – S. Eugene Gossett, 82, husband of Shirley Hinson Gossett, died Wednesday, August, 30, 2017. Eugene was born on June 22, 1935 to the late James Pittman and Mary Lee Peahuff Gossett.  He was a graduate of Devry Technical Institute, long time TV Engineer for WSPA and Spartanburg First Baptist Church. He was a member of United Baptist Church. Eugene is survived by three sons, Roger E. Gossett (Hiromi) of Austin, TX, Brent A. Gossett of San Jose, CA, Kevin A. Gossett (Jennifer) of Charleston, SC; and sister, Sue Self (Earl) of Chesnee, SC. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Kenneth, Erika, Andrew, and Ethan Gossett. Eugene was predeceased by his brothers, Reverend Thomas Gossett and J. Russell Gossett. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:30PM on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at United Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow immediately at 2:30PM officiated by Reverend Robert Emory. A private family committal will be at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Baptist Church; 7319 Valley Falls Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
